Entree is the largest trade magazine for the Dutch hospitality industry. It’s a source of information for hospitality entrepreneurs. They receive the magazine 11 times a year, addressing current developments that are important to the industry. They are kept informed of the latest news online. Entree presents the best new restaurants, hotels and bars with the coveted Entree Awards. Rotterdam had a couple of contenders in various categories. And well three of them won: Weelde, Supernova Hotel en Mooie Boules.
Supernova won this categroy. It's a new boutique hotel in the Middelland-area. The amenities are not only for the guests. Everybody can indulge themself with homemade bar bites and cocktails at the Supper on the ground floor. In the Superette you will find Supernova's favourite local and non-local foods and goods. So if you rent this apartment on Schietbaanlaan, this house on Mathenesserlaan or this property on Heemraadssingel you can make good use of Supernova. A welcome new hotspot in that part of town.
It started in Amsterdam but Rotterdam also houses a Mooie Boules. A indoor spot to play a nostalgic game of jeu des boules (or petanque)! Combined with foods and drinks. The location in Rotterdam is in Noord. In an old, characteristic metal factory in the rising ZOHO-area you'll find a French village square. Local restaurants like De Gele Kanarie, Bokaal and Weena serve signature dishes and the bar serves a wide range of wine, specialty and local beer from Kaapse Brouwers. If you rent this house on Proveniersstraat or this one on Stroveer you're within walking distance of the hall.
Two concepts from Rotterdam we're nominated. Mono and Weelde. Weelde took home the title. It's a little piece of land in the west. Along the rough edge of the city deep in the ports and near Schiedam. Anything goes. It's a city farm with a lunchroom, restaurant, a bar, three sheds and a huge greenhouse. The lush garden is the ideal location to enjoy music, theater, performance, films and art. Weelde is a bit secluded but well worth the trip. Delfshaven is near so you can rent these houses on Mullerkade or this one on Kratonkade or this loft in a former warehouse. From Schiedam it's also remarkebly close.
Unfortunately the other contenders from Rotterdam did not win. Goud had a chance as Best Restaurant Design. It's the restaurant from renowned top chef and tv-personality Herman den Blijker. It offers lavish meals paired with the cocktails from De Dr. It’s located in the quiet LLoydkwartier!
Black Smoke is located on the Van Nelle-complex. This restaurant is all about BBQ. In a former fire station (how appropriate) the bartenders make fiery cocktails and the food comes from the grill. It was a challenger for Best Restaurant Concept.
Rotterdam had two contestants for Daredevil, this prize is intended for new bold initiatives. GaleriAAA by Mangiare is a combination of a restaurant and a gallery. Pele Surf Shack is the first plant-based beachclub in The Netherlands, located in Hoek van Holland. Yes this coastal place is officially a part of Rotterdam as well.
But once again it's proven Rotterdam has a lot of hotspots. We've got great restaurants and the best bars. The more reason to settle in Rotterdam. Riva will gladly help you find great accommodation in our beloved city.
